This “Teen Wolf” star is officially playing Superman
We recently learned that Superman will officially be making an appearance in the second season of Supergirl, which premieres on The CW this fall. The Man of Steel will be visiting his cousin Kara in National City, making all of our Superman-Supergirl-fighting-crime-together dreams come true. As long as Supergirl continues to be the main source of badassery, of course.
The CW was still in the casting process when the announcement was made, but after almost two weeks of anxiously waiting, the actor who will be playing Superman has officially been cast.
And that actor is Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin, which is just so, so perfect.
“Greg and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman,” Supergirl executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said in a statement. “We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character.”
Last season, Superman was talked about, but he was never fully seen. This year, he’ll be a recurring character, and we’re thrilled.
This isn’t Hoechlin’s first stint as a comic book character — he played Tom Hanks’ son in the film adaptation of Road to Perdition. So he’s basically a pro.
