This teen documented a heartbreaking day in the life of someone with Asperger’s Syndrome

“Will there ever be a time when I’m finally happy?”

These are the heartbreaking words coming from the mouth of 14-year-old Ryan Wiggins from Hertfordshire, Britain. It’s a genuine question he asks himself every single day because of constant bullying he faces due to Asperger’s Syndrome, which he was diagnosed with at age 10. And now, he’s created an absolutely beautiful yet distressing video that has been going viral.

The black-and-white three-minute short film, entitled “Tomorrow,” was shot by Ryan himself with only a selfie stick, a broken tripod, and his mother’s video camera, according to Daily Mail. Showing Ryan running home crying after school and receiving cruel text messages reading “Kill yourself,” the film is heart-wrenching and, at times, hard to watch. “Will I ever know what it’s like to look at my own reflection without wanting to look away because I feel ashamed and disgusted at who I really am?” Ryan asks in the video. “I guess not today. Maybe tomorrow.”

The film was created for Anti-Bullying Week, and Ryan posted the moving video to the Youtube channel of Anna Kennedy Online, an autism awareness organization. Since being posted in mid-November, it’s received over 75,000 views, with dozens commenting expressing their solidarity and appreciation for Ryan and his plight.

Ryan told Daily Mail that he’s endured bullying “from as early on as [he] can remember”:

Our hearts go out to Ryan, and we thank him for calling attention to such an incredibly important issue and to serve as a light for others who may be going through the very same thing. Watch the video below.
