This teen is magically entrepreneurial with her Disney princess-inspired business
Once upon a time, there was a teenager who loved Disney princesses…
Ashley Meyer, a business savvy 17-year-old (and all-around amazing person) from Columbia, Illinois, has created something magical from her love of Disney princesses — her very own party business. It’s like something out of a fairy tale. Only it’s real.
Royal Party Princesses began when Ashley needed a job. She used her savings to purchase princess costumes and set up a website. Reservations began piling up, and soon she was getting booked for appearances all over town. She’s taken her royal entrepreneurial magic to children’s parties, day care centers and outdoor festivals. Obviously, she’s got a work ethic that Cinderella herself would envy.
Even though Royal Party Princesses has only been up and running for a few months, the business is a huge success. Ashley has already been interviewed by her local Fox affiliate TV station and is planning a big community event on August 1 called A Royal Bash. On her website, she offers tons of princess package options, including meet and greets, story time, songs, face painting and (wait for it…) princess lessons. Sign us up!
Ashley even has several employees, ranging in age from 15 to 28, who take on roles such as Arabian Princess, Sleeping Princess, Royal Princess and Beauty Princess. They look a lot like Jasmine, Aurora, Cinderella and Belle. Seriously, the resemblance is uncanny. (Wink.)
All in all, Royal Party Princesses offers eleven different characters. Eleven! And like real Disney princesses, Ashley’s Royal Party Princesses can carry a tune.
Ashley loves to sing, and she wanted to somehow incorporate that passion into her job — so she did.
We have to say, we admire this girl’s spirit. Major props to Ashley for turning something she loved into a way to make a living. As she told Fox 2 St. Louis, “Hey, who doesn’t love a princess?” We hear you, girl. Oh how we hear you.
…And she lived happily ever after.
