The hands down most moving moment of the Teen Choice Awards

The Teen Choice Awards aired Sunday night, and while the show was a lot of fun, one moment had us reaching for the tissues. During the show, the award for Choice Movie: Action went to Furious 7, and star Vin Diesel had something special to say about his late co-star and close friend, Paul Walker.

“I can’t stand here and be rewarded like this without talking about somebody very, very, very important to us,” he said, joined on stage by co-stars Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriquez, and Ludacris. “One of the best blessing in our lives is the fact that we have the opportunity to call Pablo our brother. Paul Walker is here in spirit with us.” He also thanked Walker’s daughter for keeping them motivated.

Walker and Diesel starred in the blockbuster film franchise from the very first film in 2001 and the two developed a close friendship off-screen. Following Walker’s death in 2013, Diesel has been outspoken about the continued role Walker’s memory plays in his life. From touching moments like the one seen at the Teen Choice Awards to naming his daughter in memory of Walker, Diesel is a constant reminder of how much of an impact Walker had in the lives of those who loved him.
