This teen took his 93-year-old grandma to prom, and it was the sweetest thing ever

Today’s dose of sweetness comes courtesy of this teen who took his 93-year-old grandma to prom. Not only is it a super heartwarming and thoughtful gesture, it has wondering why we never thought to do this instead of stressing over having a date for prom. We didn’t know better back then, but luckily South Carolina teen Connor Campbell did. This past weekend, he made good on his promise to take his grandmother Betty Jane Keene to his junior prom at Middleton Place Plantation, which puts him in the running for coolest grandkid ever.

We happen to think Campbell and Keene deserved a special spot on the prom court alongside kings and queens, but when it comes to showing up and showing out at the school’s biggest dance of the year, they each earned crowns. According to ABC, the adorable grandma and grandson arrived to the event in style, where they took over the dance floor and hit up the photo booth for selfies.

An enthusiastic Keene described her grandson’s spiffy attire to ABC, telling the news network that he wore a pink rose boutonniere. “He had a pink tie and vest with his tuxedo. He’s such a handsome boy,” she added.

And Keene didn’t do too bad herself, showing up to the slay the scene with a matching pink dress, a beat face, manicured nails and perfectly coiffed hair.

“It just warmed my heart,” Campbell’s mom said. “They both had a good time. It wasn’t like anyone’s arm was twisted to go. Both of them had a wonderful time, and they both said it was the best thing ever.”
