YAS! Here is the teaser trailer for new Netflix show “A Series of Unfortunate Events”

Netflix has released a teaser trailer for their upcoming adaptation of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, and it gave us chills. Of excitement.

Based on the bestselling children’s series by Daniel Handler (a.k.a. Lemony Snicket), the series will follow the adventures of three orphaned Baudelaire children adopted by their cousin Count Olaf, who is after their family inheritance.

Directed by Brad Silberling (who directed the 2004 film starring Jim Carrey which didn’t really go anywhere), this new adaptation looks sure to be a hit. Neil Patrick Harris plays Count Olaf in this version of the adaptation, and we’re pretty sure that’s him, midway through the trailer, saying,

“Joy joy happiness my fortune’s about to change. Bwahahaha ha ha.”

Which we will now say every time we get good news.

Photos of Harris in his Count Olaf makeup appeared online in the spring…

…in which he looks very much like Professor Coldheart.

The teaser trailer features Patrick Warburton (Seinfeld, Rules of Engagement, and a million other things) as author and narrator Lemony Snicket, walking on the set and talking directly to the camera a la Alfred Hitchcock.

The eight-episode series is a Netflix original production, will premiere on the very unfortunate date of Friday, January 13, 2017.
