A teacher asked his students to write in the voice of a Marvel character, genius kid chose Groot

As Avengers: Infinity War breaks records at the box office, a Texas teacher thought it would be fun to put a Marvel spin on a typical school assignment. Jeremy Scott Davis asked his students to write a resume and cover letter as any character in the Marvel universe. Cool, right? And the possibilities were endless (Scarlet Witch, The Vision, Okoye, and beyond…). Which is why we’re LOLing so hard at the fact that one genius kid chose…Groot.

In case you don’t know, Groot is a character from the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. And Groot only speaks/responds with the words “I am Groot.

"My students had to pick a Marvel character to embody within a resume and cover letter. The idea that you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take lives within one particular student of mine," Davis wrote in the now viral tweet.

Davis also included a pic of the assignment, which entailed “I am Groot” for basically every single piece of information, including name, education, experience, personal interests, and more. The student even included a matching cover letter that read “I am Groot” over and over again. Once again, LOL.

It’s safe to say the internet was also impressed, with many Twitter users asking Davis whether or not he gave the student an A+. false

false

It turns out the student got 95/100 for the assignment, and it’s a solid reminder to never be afraid to think outside the box.

Although some might argue otherwise, the student did follow the assignment guidelines. It’s not their fault Groot is a Marvel character of few words.
