Taylor Swift made Zayn Malik blush after she listened to his album

You don’t need to tell us that Mind of Mine, Zayn Malik‘s first solo album since his split from One Direction, is amazing. It’s pretty much all we listen to. Turns out, we’re not the only ones who feel this way. In the Summer 2016 issue of Dazed, the 23-year-old revealed that he got the nod of approval from the goddess of pop music herself, Taylor Swift.

“I stick to my own bubble, as it is,” Zayn revealed in the interview. “Creatively and socially, I think, as I’m getting older, that’s just the way I am…I don’t get much feedback from my peers.”

When he does discuss his music, he does it with the best of the best. “I spoke a bit to Taylor,” he said. “At Gigi’s house we briefly spoke and she told me she really enjoyed the album. It was nice to get some feedback. She said she thought I was cool and I kind of blushed a bit and didn’t know how to take it.”

We’d probably be just as starstruck to get a compliment from Taylor Swift, and that’s because she’s not just genuine, but also she knows what she’s talking about. However, Zayn tries not to let these things affect him, even if they’re good.

“You’ve got to hold on to what you are and not let things get to your head,” he explains. “Because if you do, that’s when everything comes crashing down terribly.”

In this instance, we think it’s totally okay to accept the compliment. If Taylor Swift says your music is good, and that you’re a cool person, then that’s definitely the case. Do we sense a collab in the future? *fingers crossed*
