Taylor Swift is part of your SAT prep, but she doesn’t love it — here’s why
Why anybody would throw shade at the Taylor Swift, AKA the master of impeccably classy shade throwing, is beyond me. Alas, someone did, and this time the culprit is one that you would least suspect: Taylor Swift called out an SAT Prep book company on Tumblr after they used the incorrect lyrics to her old song “Fifteen” to try to demonstrate poor grammar.
It was actually hardcore fan and Tumblr user myswiftlifee who first noticed the book’s error. Aside from the fact that they called “Fifteen” pop music when it was decidedly country (DON’T CROSS A SWIFTIE, GUYS). they totally got the line in the chorus wrong. In the book it’s written, “Somebody tells you they love you, you got to believe ’em.” Which sends an altogether different message than the actual lyrics, which are, “Somebody tells you they love you, you’re gonna believe them.”

Taylor, of course, is quite famous for following fans back on Tumblr (still holding out for miiiiine #justsaying), which is most likely how the hilarious misprint was brought to her attention. She immediately reblogged it and of course added adorably indignant hashtags, because her range of talents in the sass department run far and wide.
There you have it, guys. The SAT Prep people tried to school students and instead Taylor schooled SAT Prep. “ACCUSE ME OF ANYTHING BUT DO NOT ATTACK MY GRAMMAR,” she says. Oh, fifteen-year-old Taylor. If only you had known that someday the song you scribbled in your room would eventually meet this bizarre fate. Let this be a lesson to us all: The haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate. And the test takers gonna take, take, take, take … your lyrics, and use them incorrectly to teach high schoolers about pronouns. Stay vigilant, fellow Swifties. I’m sure there’s more where that came from.
