Taylor Swift posted a rare social media shout out to BF Joe Alwyn
Taylor Swift and boyfriend Joe Alwyn are notoriously private about their romance. We weren’t even entirely sure the pair—who have been together since 2017—were dating for months, and they never post photos of one another on their social media accounts (slash rarely speak about each other publicly). So we were admittedly surprised to see Swift reference Alwyn in a November 22nd Instagram post.
Did she wax romantic words of thanks about her actor BF? Or perhaps post an adorable couple’s selfie? Sadly, it was much less salacious. Instead, Swift posted about Alwyn’s upcoming period film The Favourite, which also stars Emma Stone and Nicholas Hoult.
"The Favourite is absolutely phenomenal, and it opens in NY and LA tomorrow— Swipe to see cities and dates! @thefavouritemovie @joe.alwyn@nicholashoult," she wrote, alongside a quick teaser for the movie.
Swift was so low-key about the shout out that she also tagged Hoult (and she probably would also have tagged Stone if the actress had an Instagram account)—proving she’s attempting to promote her boyfriend’s work as opposed to just her boyfriend (classy move, Tay).
This might not be the grand romantic gesture of our dreams, but honestly, we’ll take it. And we can’t wait to check out The Favourite, which hits theaters November 23rd.
