Once again, Taylor Swift owns on Tumblr
Earlier this week, Queen Taylor Swift met up with Bad Blood co-star/elite squad member Selena Gomez for lunch. The pair looked trendy as ever: Selena wore a button-up denim blouse, crisp white pants, and sunglasses that were like vacation in an outfit, while Tay stunned in high-heeled boots, a graphic tee, and army green shorty-shorts.
Oh, and a harness.
Taylor Swift wore a suspender-type leather harness on her lady date like it was nbd, and now leather harnesses are enjoying their moment in the spotlight. Photos of the outfit quickly went viral, and the Internet questioned the pop star’s fashion choice, even debating whether or not the harness was on backwards or not.
Luckily, being the Tumblr goddess she is, Taylor set the record straight in a perfect post on her blog. “I think you’re ignoring a really important point here,” she said on Tumblr. “That my harness and I are always ready for a zip line/rock climbing.”
Taylor then presented an excellent challenge for her fans. “Ask yourself,” she wrote. “Are you ready for extreme adventure should it present itself? HARNESS LIFE 2015”
T-Swift tagged her post with some hilarious hashtags to point naysayers to the truth: #and it’s not backwards shut down rumors about her ability to put her clothes on the right way. She also tagged the post with #check free people dot com bye, which I took literally. Here is one of the harnesses that Free People sells; it might not be the exact one that Taylor was wearing, but the design is the same—business in the front, party in the back. Basically, it’s the mullet of fashion harnesses.
As always, Taylor Swift rules on Tumblr. Her ability to interact with fans with such an awesome sense of humor is so inspiring! Plus, she makes a really good point … if I want to be ready for extreme adventure at any moment, I’d better start dressing more like Katniss.
