8 moments you thought were CGI in the “Out of the Woods” video that were actually 100% real
Remember that time Taylor Swift mentioned that she “suffered for her art” while making her video for her latest single, “Out of the Woods?” She wasn’t kidding about that. Everything we saw in the video was actually real, which means that yes, Swift spent a lot of time submerged underwater.
The video — which you’ve probably seen at least half a dozen times, right? — focuses on Swift’s emotional journey… out of the woods. The video was shot on location in New Zealand, and while lots of it appears to be computer generated and added in after the fact, it’s all real! All of it! Even those wolves, which means that Swift was dangerously close to danger (but okay, not really, because they were all trained Hollywood wolves).
