Taylor Swift Drops Second Album Three Hours After “Midnights” Release

20 new songs?! The Swifities are not okay.

I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling over-the-moon-because-the-wait-is-finally-over. Taylor Swift’s tenth studio album, “Midnights,” is here and she is beautiful… *and* features seven bonus songs!

Per Swift’s original Instagram announcement, “Midnights” is “a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face.” From her ultra-private relationship with longtime beau Joe Alwyn and her struggles with fame, to fighting with her insecurities and dealing with revenge, Swift is laying it all out there.

“Midnights” wouldn’t be the glistening, sultry record it is without Jack Antonoff, who has served as the Grammy winner’s co-writer and producer for almost a decade. However, Swift tapped a few other famous faces along the way as well.

Alwyn exercised his songwriting skills once again on track No. 12 “Sweet Nothing.” The love song lists William Bowery as a writer, which Alwyn has adopted as his musical pseudonym. A closeted lyrical genius, Alywn Bowery contributed to Swift’s indie-rock albums “folklore” and “evermore,” too.

Lana Del Rey lended her vocals on “Snow on the Beach,” which she co-wrote. Zoë Kravtiz found herself in Swift’s writing room as well, and actor Dylan O’Brien, who starred in the “All Too Well: Short Film,” can be heard playing the drums on “Snow on the Beach.”

And then there’s the little tidbit the Internet can’t stop talking about. At three in the morning, TSwift dropped a deluxe record titled “Midnights (3am Edition)” with seven new songs.

“Surprise! I think of Midnights as a complete concept album, with those 13 songs forming a full picture of the intensities of that mystifying, mad hour. However! There were other songs we wrote on our journey to find that magic 13. I’m calling them 3am tracks,” the popstar announced via Instagram in the wee hours of Friday morning.

“Lately I’ve been loving the feeling of sharing more of our creative process with you, like we do with From The Vault tracks,” she added. “So it’s 3am and I’m giving them to you now.”

You know it’s going to be a fabulous weekend when you wake up Friday morning with 20 new songs from TSwift.
