Taylor Swift beautifully shut down rumors that she has beef with Hayley Kiyoko

In badass women who are not here for the drama news, Taylor Swift made it clear that she and singer Hayley Kiyoko are not, in fact, feuding in any way.
It all began in an interview with Refinery29, when Kiyoko, who is an openly gay woman, revealed that she often faces backlash for portraying same-gender relationships in her videos.
"I've had several music industry execs say, 'You're doing another music video about girls?' I literally looked at them and was like, 'Um, yeah ... Taylor Swift sings about men in every single song and video, and no one complains that she's unoriginal,'" Kiyoko said to Refinery29. "I'm not over-sexualizing my music. I make out with women because I love women, not because I'm trying to be sexy. That's not to turn heads, that's my life."
While most understood that Kiyoko merely meant to point out a double standard within the music industry, some of Swift’s fans took issue.
The conversation became so big that Taylor Swift herself weighed in — and she said she knew exactly what Kiyoko was talking about. Even further, she applauded the singer for being so open and honest.https://taylorswift.tumblr.com/post/172426031730/did-you-see-what-hayley-kiyoko-said-about-taylor
"We should applaud artists who are brave enough to tell their honest romantic narrative through their art, and the fact is that I've never encountered homophobia and she has," Swift wrote on Tumblr. "It’s her right to call out anyone who has double standards about gay vs straight love interests."
Kiyoko went on Twitter to say that she appreciated Swift’s response.
❤️ and respect to @taylorswift13 and all the brave artists out there sharing their truth with the world. I appreciate you. We keep climbing.

We’re so glad that Swift weighed in to put this non-feud to rest and that she used her position of privilege to speak up on this issue. And we, too, applaud Hayley Kiyoko for speaking her truth.
