Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance at the 2019 Golden Globes, and fans weren’t ready for it
Fans were in for a surprise when Taylor Swift took the 2019 Golden Globes stage on January 6th at the Beverly Hilton. The “…Ready For It?” singer joined British actor Idris Elba to present the nominees for Best Original Score, which was ultimately nabbed by Lady Gaga and team for “Shallow” from A Star is Born. Swift donned an edgy black dress with a dramatic leg slit.

The surprise appearance comes on the heels of Swift’s video message for The Handmaid’s Tale nominee and fellow Swift stan Elisabeth Moss, which aired during E!’s red carpet coverage. In the video, Swift said:
“I just wanted to do this video as a shout-out to Elisabeth, and say thank you so much for saying in an interview that you listen to my music when you're shooting Handmaid's Tale. Because I'm a huge fan; I'm obsessed with the show."
After watching the clip alongside host Ryan Seacrest, Moss gushed, “Oh my God that’s so crazy! I can’t believe she even knows who I am! That’s amazing, thank you!”

Swift may be at the ceremony tonight at least in part because her boyfriend Joe Alwyn’s recent film The Favourite is nominated for several awards. Now, hopefully Swift and Moss get to bond at a Golden Globes afterparty tonight.
