Taylor Swift revealed that Arya Stark inspired a specific song on her last album, and this makes so much sense

Over the course of its eight seasons, Game of Thrones has enthralled millions of viewers with its political intrigue, shocking plot twists, and, of course, its dragons. And it currently seems like everyone is obsessed with it—even, apparently, Taylor Swift. The pop star recently revealed that Game of Thrones influenced her Reputation album in a big way.

In an interview with Entertainment Weeklypublished May 9th, Swift explained that she started watching the fantasy epic in 2016, around the time she was writing the songs that would become her sixth studio album.

"So much of my imagination was spent on Game of Thrones," she said. “At the time, I was making Reputation and I didn’t talk about it in interviews, so I didn’t reveal that a lot of the songs were influenced by the show."

This makes total sense. Reputation is all about getting back at those who’ve wronged you. Swift even broke down exactly how the characters on the series worked their way into her lyrics.

"These songs were half based on what I was going through, but seeing them through a Game of Thrones filter," she told EW. "'Look What You Made Me Do' is literally Arya Stark’s kill list. 'King of My Heart' was influenced by Khal Drogo and Daenerys. It’s even got this post-hook of drums—I wanted them to sound like Dothraki drums."

“‘I Did Something Bad’ I wrote after Arya and Sansa conspire to kill Littlefinger,’ she added. “That and ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ are very Cersei vibes, too. Daenerys as well.”

Reputation-era Swift definitely seems like she’d be at home on the Iron Throne.

This may be our favorite pop culture mash up ever.
