We’re moved to tears about this Taylor Swift fan who met her idol

When 12-year-old Jorja Hope learned she had a condition that caused inner-hear hearing loss and that she would one day be completely deaf, she had one thing to say right from the get-go: “I won’t be able to hear Taylor Swift sing.”

Jorja, who is from Maitland, New South Wales, Australia is a huge Swift fan, obviously – and luckily, she has an amazing sibling. According to The Maitland Mercury, Jorja’s twin sister started a social-media campaign to try and set up a meet and greet between Swift and Jorja at Swift’s Sydney concert, which was this past Saturday night.

AND IT WORKED. Local Sydney radio station Nova 96.9 noticed the campaign and got in touch with Swift’s camp, who hooked Jorja and her sister up with prime seats to the show at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium – and a meet and greet with Swift, of course, complete with adorable photo op!

“She was very, very amazing and very pretty,” Jorja told The Maitland Mercury. “I didn’t expect her to be as tall as she was.”

The girls also brought Swift a sweet gift to thank her: UGG boots, which Jorja said Swift was “very excited” about and added that she and her sister had a blast and danced all night.

Though Swift’s act of kindness is admirable and sweet, we can’t help but be unsurprised, as it isn’t the first, second, or probably even 1989th time she has shown extra love to her fans, whom she has always seemed so genuinely grateful for and connected to. Thank you for continuing to inspire us all to be better, T-Swift – and congrats to Jorja for meeting her (and our!) idol.
