Taylor Swift just donated $15,500 to a young fan struggling financially after her mom fell into a coma

Taylor Swift is a wildly famous pop-star, a recently loud advocate for democracy, and a quiet beacon of financial light in her fan’s lives. Swift sent money to a fan’s family after a fatal car accident, she bought a pregnant and homeless fan a house, plus she also gave Kesha a quarter of a million dollars to help with her legal battle against Dr. Luke. Most recently, Swift donated $15,500 to a fan’s GoFundMe when she learned her mother had been in a coma for three years.

Sadie Bartell, 19, revealed her mom had an ulcer that, according to Bartell’s Twitter note, “bled out that led to lack of oxygen to the brain which resulted in brain damage.” Bartell’s mom has now been in a coma for three years. Bartell’s father stopped working to care for his wife full-time, and Bartell and her brothers are now the financial providers for the family.

When Swift heard about this, she sent $15,500 to the GoFundMe and signed the donation, “Love, Taylor, Meredith and Olivia Swift.”

After Bartell saw Swift’s donation, she was overjoyed, writing that Swift “just gave my family exactly what we need to carry on.”

"Everyone who knows me knows that Taylor Swift is my whole entire life. She has been there for me more than anyone," Bartell wrote in a Facebook post. "I really, truly, would not be who I am without her. Today she read my family’s story online and out of the goodness of her heart donated to us. She shows up every time I need her. She always has and she always will. I wish that I could express how much it means to me that ANYONE has helped my family over the years, let alone Taylor.

It’s very cool of Swift to financial support the lives of her fans, and we’re sending all the love and light to Bartell and her family.
