This Taylor Swift domino fan tribute is absurdly cool
You know what they say about love: It makes you do crazy things. Take, for example, YouTuber petmagnetetal (a.k.a. Brian), who, out of love, built a tribute to Taylor Swift out of thousands of dominoes and then recorded them all falling over – crazy and really fun to watch.
The dominoes follow T-Swift’s whole, beautiful career, starting with her self-named album, Taylor Swift, weaving through Speak Now and Red, and ending with 1989. Brian intermingled cd’s, photos, even pop-up messages into the elaborate set-up, and it takes over two minutes for every bit of the design to unfold.
In the description of the video, Brian shares that he spent over a week creating the domino shout-out to Taylor. He also adds that he has tons of footage of bloopers, which he might edit into a second video (I’d watch that, Brian!)
Such attention to detail …
Here’s the domino homage to “Teardrops On My Guitar.” Note the actual domino teardrops.
How does one even go about this? And also, doesn’t the way this “22” fall remind you of the time Neville blew up the bridge in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2? Just me?
And we get a Becky joke! So brilliant.
Brian explains under his video that he recently entered a contest to win a meet and greet with Taylor, whose music he’s loved for longer than he can remember. “It would mean the world to me if you could help me win,” his video description says.
All my fingers are crossed that Brian wins that meet and greet, but even if he doesn’t, Taylor has taken notice to his art. She tweeted his video, saying she is “floored” and “really flattered” that someone would spend a week setting up dominoes in her honor.
On another note, I wonder how long it took to clean all of those dominoes up …
