Taylor Swift’s (talking) cats steal the show in this new commercial
Taylor Swift is no casual cat mom. The powerhouse singer and recent political activist dotes on her two cats, Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson, so much that they’re arguably almost as famous as she is. So, naturally, when Swift filmed a commercial for Direct TV Now, she included both her furry babies in the ad.
"Hey, ladies, I'm back," Swift announces in the ad, walking into her dressing room post-performance. In the singer's absence, the disgruntled cats have managed to pull the stuffing out of their toy mice—because they were bored, with nothing good to watch on TV.
In the commercial, Meredith and Olivia can talk, and they use their voices to criticize their owner for leaving them with juvenile cartoons (“We’re not babies!”). If cats could talk, we imagine this is not what they’d say, but we’re not complaining. We’ll take footage of Taylor and her cats any day.
"When you forget to DVR Meredith and Olivia’s favorite shows, Claw & Order SVU and Grey's Acatomy," Swift captioned her October 16th Instagram post.

Oh, and these cat actors (cactors?) aren’t new to Hollywood: Both have starred in high-profile ads in the past. Olivia has even made appearances in a Diet Coke commercial, an AT&T campaign, and the “Blank Space” music video.
We can’t wait to see what these adorable snuggle queens do next.
