We *need* this Taylor Swift-themed detective book in our lives

Taylor Swift may be all over pop culture — there are even lullaby versions of her songs to put your baby to sleep! — but now, we’ve got the one thing we didn’t know we needed: a Taylor Swift detective book.

The graphic novella, which is being funded on Kickstarter, is called Taylor Swift: Girl Detective and The Secrets of The Starbucks — a play on the singer’s commonly misheard lyric in “Blank Space,” which everyone thought was “all the lonely Starbucks lovers” but was actually “got a long list of ex-lovers.” (Hey, either way, it’s still catchy.)http://taylorswiftgirldetective.tumblr.com/post/141611083397/heads-up-gumshoes-the-kickstarter-for-our-first

The book, which was written by Larissa Zageris and illustrated by Kitty Curran, depicts the “hilarious (and high fashion) hijinks that ensue” when Taylor and Lorde (naturally) decide to crack the case of a struggling actress who has been “receiving threatening messages on her skinny mochas” in New York City, according to the book’s Kickstarter. But why make a Taylor-themed dective book?

“Her publicity is focused more on her own derring-doishness and accomplishments than her sex appeal, much like a modern day Nancy Drew,” Kitty told TIME. “She also used to dress exactly like Nancy Drew, though now she looks maybe more like the updated 80s version.”http://taylorswiftgirldetective.tumblr.com/post/144123984447/kittycurran-its-the-last-48-hours-of-the

And of Taylor’s squad, why choose Lorde as the sidekick? “While Lorde is a badass, she is so ethereal and poetic in her ways that making her the tough one in the book just seemed hilarious to us. We also needed a good foil for the more poised, level-headed detective figure of Taylor Swift and she fit the bill perfectly,” she told TIME.

Oh, and ICYWW, Taylor has not officially authorized the book, but she *did* follow its Tumblr account, which is pretty much the same thing, TBH. Backers of the book will get the print or PDF version in July, and there may be books available online and in person. Taylor Swift as Nancy Drew was something we didn’t know we needed, but now that we do. . . boy, do we need it.
