Taylor Swift looked like an Art Deco dream at the CMA Awards and it’s giving us Gatsby feels

Last night (November 2nd), Taylor Swift returned to the CMA Awards to present the Entertainer of the Year Award to fellow Nashville stalwart, Garth Brooks.

Obviously, people were super, duper excited by the fact that Taylor was returning to her Nashville roots after a three absence from the event. The star, whose last album, 1989, was a marked departure from the banjos and guitars of her previous efforts.

"It’s been almost 13 years since I came to Nashville with a dream of being a songwriter and being a recording artist," Taylor said. "And I learned so much about what it means to be an entertainer from the remarkable artists in this room tonight."

TayTay then went on to list the nominees for Entertainer of the Year, before awarding it to Garth Brooks.

While we were pumped that Taylor was acknowledging her country history again, we were pretty distracted by the fact that she was wearing the most beautiful Art Deco inspired dress.

Literally, Taylor was giving us serious Gatsby feels with this lewk.

Isn’t it absolutely gorgeous!?

We love that this this a dress of two parts. While the top half with it’s halter neck and cut outs looks fairly casual, the fact that it mutates into a floor length gown is pretty spectacular.

Similarly, we’re totally enthralled by the detailing.

The dress is taken from designer Julien Macdonald’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection, and we have to say we’re totally in love!

It was recently revealed that Taylor had made a sneaky return to the country music scene.

After keeping quiet about it, Swifty was revealed to be the solo songwriter of Little Big Town’s “Better Man.” The band picked up the gong for CMA Vocal Group of the Year, and since it was announced that Taylor was the writer behind “Better Man,” the song has been number one on iTunes.

What Taylor’s return to Nashville means is still to be confirmed. However, given that she got pretty nostalgic during her concert on the eve of the Formula One U.S. Grand Prix in Austin, we think that, possibly, Taylor could be returning looking back as well as forward with this her new music.
