We’re swooning over these first official pictures from ‘Tarzan’

I’m not sure what we’re more excited about: 1) that there’s going to be a new Tarzan movie, 2) that it’s going to tell a whole new story with Tarzan adjusting to early Victorian life before heading back to the Congo to save his home or, 3) these new pictures, which give us the first look at actors Alexander Skarsgård and Margot Robbie in character as Tarzan and Jane. I’d say it’s a tie.

These pictures are pretty intense, and not just because it looks like Skarsgård had to spend half of his life in a gym to get those abs. Mostly because it looks like it’s going in a much different direction than the animated Disney version we know and love. But that doesn’t mean we’re not super excited.

Actors like Samuel L. Jackson, Christoph Waltz, and Djimon Hounsou are also a part of the cast, but it seems like we’ll have to wait until July 1st, 2016 to see them all in action.
