A Tanlines video starring Natasha Lyonne and Alex Karpovsky? Yassss.

If you’ve finished your Orange is the New Black binge, you’re probably going through a lot of Nicky Nichols withdrawal (and if you’ve made it through season three, you really know why). Thankfully, Natasha Lyonne, the actress who plays Nicky, isn’t locked away in a prison, and we are so very thankful for that. Being on the outside, she’s got time to star in Tanline’s new video for their song, “Palace.”

The video starts off with a breakup at a diner, and then a what if? scenario, which is very much like Gwyneth Paltrow‘s 1998 masterpiece, Sliding Doors. While Tanline’s frontman, Eric Emm, follows her out of the diner after an argument, a second version of him remains at the table, played by none other than Girl‘s Alex Karpovsky — who also co-directed the video. From there, we get to see both sides of this relationship. In Eric Emm’s scenario they stay together, go to couple’s counseling, make dinner together, and try to make amends.

In Karpovsky’s, the scenario where they break up for good, he piles her stuff in a box and goes about moving on in cartoonish montage fashion. Tanline’s other member, Jesse Cohen, meets up with Karpovsky and they party like it’s the end of the world. Meanwhile Lyonne and Emm try to make it work, but it still might not be enough to keep them together. After all, nothing can outrun fate.

Check out the whole silly, charming video for the ridiculously catch song below. While there might not be OITNB references, there are a lot of shout-outs to Girls (and Lena Dunham!). For example: When Alex Karpovsky’s character is attempting to make amends, he brings over a gift basket that includes a copy of Dunham’s book Not That Kind of Girl.

“Palace” is from Tanlines’ sophomore album Highlights, which came out last month, and we definitely recommend checking out the rest of the record.
