Hello, Taco Bell Biscuit Taco. We have so many feelings about you.
Taco Bell, which by the day feels less like an actual restaurant and more like the world’s leading laboratory dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what we call a taco, has unleashed their latest creation on the world. The fast-food chain is introducing the “biscuit taco” this week, which will replace the “waffle taco” on their breakfast menu.
So what is the “biscuit taco”? It’s a biscuit folded into the shape of a taco and filled with a variety of breakfasty things, such as eggs and sausage or fried chicken with a jalapeno-honey sauce. Let’s all breathe a sigh of relief that we’re finally able to eat our breakfast fast food fried chicken in taco form. It truly is a great time to be alive.
Of course, this all may sound familiar. McDonald’s already rolled out chicken and biscuit breakfast sandwiches some time ago. Taco Bell has had McDonald’s fast-food-breakfast throne in their sights for a while, and it’s what prompted the chain to even introduce a breakfast menu, according to the Associated Press,
But back to the matter at hand, is it really possible to FOLD a biscuit? Can you really shape a biscuit into a taco? Doesn’t that defy the math of a biscuit’s circumference to fluff ratio? So many questions.
While we totally understand why the whole waffle thing didn’t work out (waffles just aren’t tacos—no way, no how), it’s a bold move to turn a beloved, universally round breakfast food, like a biscuit, into a taco.
But if anyone can do it, it’s you, Taco Bell.
