SZA revealed the four simple skin care products she uses to combat her cystic acne

She may be one of the most exciting and authentic recording artists working today, so when SZA gave fans insight into a relatable skin issue that most of us deal with, we were all ears. While speaking with Refinery 29, SZA revealed that she struggles with cystic acne, and she shared the simple ways she pampers her skin.

You might think someone as successful as SZA would turn to a fleet of dermatologists and facialists to help solve her problems, but it turns out she has a more DIY approach to skin care that we can all relate to. She tells Refinery29, “I have this weird feeling that the apocalypse is upon us, so I have to choose products that I can find in nature.”

We agree with her on that one. That said, SZA is incredibly well-versed in skin care, given that she actually worked at the skin care department of Sephora before she made it big! She knows all the beauty secrets, and not surprisingly, her cure-all for her cystic acne can be found in those hallowed halls.

SZA revealed to Refinery29:

"I have cystic acne, so I use a Manuka honey mask to combat it and hemp oil to smooth out the surface of my skin. I also use a vitamin C serum and black soap, and that's it."

Excuse us while we write this down in our beauty journal.

It’s important to note that everyone’s skin is different, and the “Love Galore” singer is well aware of that. From her years of experience working at Sephora, SZA saw firsthand that what works for one person’s skin might not work for another.

She told Refinery29, “I know for a fact that everyone’s skin is different. Consistency and simplification is key. I can’t try a whole bunch of different shit that I’ve seen… I don’t have that gene pool, so I do what I know. Every now and again, if I see something really cool, I’ll be like, ‘let me try this little turmeric mask.’”

Truer words were never spoken. We will be giving her four-part skin care routine a shot the next time we need to get a deep clean. SZA obviously knows what she is talking about, and that makes us love this beauty queen even more.
