‘Supergirl’ star Melissa Benoist hung out with a Girl Scout troop of her biggest fans
Supergirl star Melissa Benoist knows that heroes come in all shapes and sizes. That’s why, when a Girl Scout troop from Oklahoma dropped by the set the other day, the former Glee star welcomed them with open arms — capes and all. And of course, the best way to welcome someone? With Instagram. The girl gang posed for not one but two photos that are sure to make your hearts melt.
The first photo shows them in full superhero get up: capes on, fists raised, serious expressions activated.
But the second may be even cuter, with all the ladies in one giant embrace.
The new CBS show, which is set to premiere October 26, is all about girl-power and recognition. That’s good, because these Girl Scouts have a lot to celebrate. Back in March, their work was honored at the White House Science Fair after they created battery powered LEGO page-turner for those with disabilities, specifically mobility issues. Even President Obama called the invention “unbelievable.”
Well, believe it. Now these Supergirls, the name they’ve given their particular troop, have the street-cred to match, with their work being lauded by Supergirl herself.
This isn’t the first time that Melissa Benoist has given back to her fans. After the pilot screening a few months ago, Benoist surprised the room of 400 fans by appearing from behind the curtain after the credits rolled. She took pictures and signed autographs for every single person in the room, which sounds like a superpower of its own!
