The Super Bowl crowd was silent during Justin Timberlake’s performance, and we have the video here

If you’re looking for Super Bowl conversations you can have with your coworkers (the ones who show up) tomorrow, boy do we have a tidbit for you. During Justin Timberlake’s 2018 Super Bowl halftime performance, the larger crowd appeared to be completely silent. According to several Twitter users, the fake crowd set up in front of Timberlake’s stage was the only group of people excited to see Timberlake perform — and that was, well, their job.

Twitter user @onlychyld tweeted a video of the larger Super Bowl crowd, the people in the stands. She remarked, “Y’all it is SO quiet in here. Only the fake crowd y’all see on camera cares about Justin.”

From their perspective in the crowd, @onlychyld stated that the best part of the performance seemed to be the video they played of Prince’s performance. And then there was Justin. According to the Super Bowl-goer:

"The crazy part about the halftime show is the crowd was LIVE and on its feet most of the first half. Then Justin came and everyone sat quietly."

If you need proof:

Honestly, without any context, you wouldn’t even know that was the Super Bowl. There is literally no energy or excitement. Now, you may be asking yourself: Why? Perhaps it’s because there were sound issues, perhaps it was Timberlake’s lackluster entrance onto the stage, or perhaps it’s because no one wants to support a man who worked with alleged child molester Woody Allen. Then again, it might have to do with Timberlake’s unwelcome Prince tribute.

Either way, Twitter also wasn’t having Timberlake’s halftime show.

With that being said, there is the other side of the Super Bowl spectrum.

We wonder if Timberlake will say something…
