If you’re not sold on “Sun Records,” Chad Michael Murray dancing in his underwear should do the trick
If we’re being honest, anything that Chad Michael Murray does in life is going to attract our attention. The minute we heard he was starring in Sun Records — CMT’s new show aboutthe birth of rock and roll — we were admittedly excited. But we didn’t anticipate Murray having a Risky Business moment, aka dancing in his boxers!
BUT dreams do come true sometimes, and that’s exactly what happened. In the clip, his character Sam Phillips (based on the real rock legend who helped launch the careers of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and a ton of other icons) is on doctor’s orders to “take it easy.” Except he knows better. AKA he’s gonna dance in his underwear.

And our feelings right now can be boiled down to one word: SWOON!
It definitely reminds us of a certain iconic scene…
via giphyWhen talking about portraying Sam Phillips in an interview with Rolling Stone, Murray said, “I’m ashamed […] I didn’t know that the man who brought Elvis and Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis [and] Carl Perkins to the world, that there was one man pulling the strings. That’s why I was so fascinated with him. The biggest question was: How do you make a show with Sam being the central character when he’s surrounded by such giant personas?”
In case you missed it, Sun Records also features actors portraying musical icons Johnny Cash, Elvis, Ike Turner, Carl Perkins (to name a few), and takes us deep into the world of what was to become a legendary music scene.
Not to gush too much…because we really ARE interested in the show as a whole, but…THIS GUY!
