Let’s bask in this photo of the Suicide Squad in all their costumed glory
After a ton of little teases, we finally have the first official Suicide Squad cast photo. Late Sunday night, Suicide Squad‘s director, David Ayer, tweeted out the first photo of the group in full costume. We’ve seen the cast gathered together for the first table read, and we’ve gotten a few looks at Jared Leto as The Joker, but this is the picture we’ve really been waiting for. Meet Task Force X:
Pictured here are Slipknot (Adam Beach), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), Katana (kneeling, Karen Fukuhara), Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Deadshot (Will Smith), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), and El Diablo (Jay Hernandez).
Yes, Leto’s green-haired tattooed Joker is MIA, which makes me think that’s going to be the ongoing trend. Maybe that’s a little hint about the movie, too? The Joker refuses to hang out with the rest of the group? There’s no official synopsis for the movie yet, and from the released images of the Joker, it’s unlikely that he’s going to play nice with everyone else.
In lieu of any sort of Joker images, Ayer instead tweeted out a better look at Smith’s Deadshot. We now get to see him in full costume—with a white mask and enhanced eye, too. Just FYI: Deadshot’s a highly trained and skilled assassin, who never misses a mark, and his eye helps him with that.
You know, there’s still one other character in this movie we’ve yet to see — Viola Davis as Suicide Squad’s leader, Amanda Waller. Can we get that one next, Mr. Ayer? Please?
