These supermarket sugar cookies have sent the internet into a full-on debate

There’s a war happening on the internet right now, and surprisingly, it has absolutely nothing to do with politics or social injustices. This war is about something much more important — at least, much more important to the palate. People on Twitter are in a full-blown debate about sugar cookies. But not just any sugar cookies — those soft, frosted cookies with sprinkles you can find at pretty much any supermarket (AKA the most delicious cookies ever).

Plot twist! Lofthouse Frosted Sugar Cookies (and various knock-offs) are at the center of a heated Twitter debate. Here’s what happened: 21-year-old Taylor Haugen from Wisconsin innocently tweeted her feelings about the cookies. She referred to them as “flavorless,” which is a fair assessment since everyone’s taste buds are different (even though she’s totally wrong about that, but those are just our taste buds doing the talking).

Two things we need to point out: The delicious cookies are sold year-round and also the cookies are DELICIOUS.

While her tweet has garnered over 17,000 retweets and 30,000 likes, her opinion seems to be an unpopular one. false

Many people even begged Haugen to delete her blasphemous words.

And then there are the people who agree that calling them “cookies” should be illegal.

Haugen told Buzzfeed that she “wasn’t planning on starting WWIII,” but despite the massive debate, she’s standing by her words. “I will never change my opinion on them,” she said. “Though I don’t think I’ll voice my opinions on other baked goods anymore.”

That’s probably a safe way to go.
