Taylor Swift just released “Gorgeous,” the third single off new album Reputation, and the lyrics are all everyone can talk about, especially the following: “Stumble home to my cats.” We’ll explain in a second.
Sure, the song has been all but been confirmed to be about Taylor’s new boyfriend, British actor Joe Alywn — something fans who were lucky enough to listen to the album *with* Taylor have also confirmed — and contains at least on subtle jab towards a particular ex (*cough* Tom Hiddleston *cough*), but it’s not Taylor gushing about her new BF that has people talking.
Nope. It’s Taylor giving her cats, Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson the *most* relatable shoutout in existence.
After lamenting about not being able to be with the impossibly gorgeous man she sees across the room, Taylor sings about what we all do after a night of not getting the guy, singing, “guess I’ll just stumble on home to my cats.” Well it’s safe to say, sometimes stars really are just like us.

Taylor’s undying love of Meredith and Olivia — named after Grey’s Anatomy and Law and Order: SVU characters of the same name — has been long-documented. Before clearing out her Instagram to promote Reputation, the cats made frequent appearances and the “Blank Space” singer has routinely talked about her beloved pets during interviews. Olivia even made an appearance in a recent AT&T commercial with Taylor.
It seems Old Taylor may be gone but it seems her love of cats lives on!
