After Oxford University turned her down, this student made rejection letter art a thing
Applying to college is one of the most terrifying and vulnerable experiences a young person can have. After baring all for the universities of your dreams, sometimes things don’t go as you’d hoped and you get rejected. While most of us would curl up with a tub of ice cream and a rom-com after getting rejected from our dream school, one student got a bit more creative.
Earlier this year, Louisa Saunders’ daughter, Claudia, applied to Oxford University and recently learned that she hadn’t been accepted. While Claudia was disappointed to be rejected from the prestigious school, she quickly turned sadness into art — literally.
Louisa tweeted a photo of Claudia’s rejection letter art and it is so cool:
Yesterday, my daughter learned that she hadn't got into Oxford. By the time I got in from work, she'd made this from her rejection letter pic.twitter.com/KCInrTA1OO

The 18-year-old revealed to ITV that she had been hoping to study classics at the school and decided to turn the rejection letter into something more fun to cheer herself up. She said,
"I just thought it was a bit of a bummer not to get in. I felt like making it into something."
The tweet, which has over 80,000 favorites and 26,000 retweets, quickly prompted other Twitter users to send their own cheers to Claudia and encouraged her to keep painting.
Oxford missed their chance with your daughter. Bigger and better things coming.

The key to greatness is learning to handle rejection – never seen anyone handle it better!

She doesn't need a place at Oxford, she needs her own gallery exhibition.

She's amazing and will go far. She is her own woman and that's the most important thing.

Claudia and Louisa revealed that they were surprised by the social media response to the tweet. Claudia told ITV, “Usually social media can be quite brutal but it made my week.”
We absolutely love her creativity and are sure that Claudia will go on to do something amazing at whatever school she decides to go to.
