Don’t worry you guys, we’re going to be able to stream Adele’s “25” after all

You probably already know this, but up until now we straight up haven’t been able to stream Adele’s 25. All of that will change on Thursday at midnight when the album becomes available on Spotify, Apple Music, TIDAL, and Google Play. Oh glory be.
When Adele released the album, she was very vocal about why she wasn’t making it available to stream. She told TIME in an interview, “I believe music should be an event. For me, all albums that come out, I’m excited about leading up to release day. I don’t use streaming. I buy my music. I download it, and I buy a physical [copy] just to make up for the fact that someone else somewhere isn’t. It’s a bit disposable, streaming.” She continued on to say, “I know that streaming music is the future, but it’s not the only way to consume music. I can’t pledge allegiance to something that I don’t know how I feel about yet.”
Her decision not to stream the album ended up working in her favor, and sales for 25 shattered existing records — girlfriend sold 3.38 million copies in the U.S. in the first week.
So, does this switch mean she’s pledged her allegiance to streaming? Or was it merely a business decision?
Either way, we’re pretty excited to have access to 25 whenever we want it. Even though, we do already own it.
