Group of stray cats crosses stage at mega important G20 Summit, NBD

On Sunday, the audience at the G20 summit saw some unexpected fuzzy guest speakers on stage. Unfortunately, they were speaking a language no one could understand: meowing.

World leaders were gathering in Istanbul, Turkey this past weekend, but when the stage was set and journalists were waiting for photo ops, they got a photo op they certainly weren’t expecting. Although you’d expect security to be airtight for an essential event such as this, somehow, a bunch of stray cats managed to get through and wander onstage. (Maybe the security guy just has a soft spot for cats.)

Several cats peeked out from the stage and checked out the scene, meowing to each other and sniffing the flowers. Perhaps they were very politically active cats who wanted to make sure to be in the know, or maybe they just were curious as to what all the fuss is about. But either way, the comedic timing of this was beautiful. You know, just some cats chilling on stage at one of the most essential meetings of the year, filled with unbelievably powerful and influential leaders of the world. NBD.

Luckily, this was all caught on video, and it’s already received over 200,000 views on YouTube. We can only imagine how that number will shoot up; it’s gotta be a little bit embarrassing for both world leaders and security to be bamboozled by a bunch of rebellious cats. But we gotta give those felines props — that’s CRAZY bold.

Check out the video below, and for a fun Tuesday activity, count how many cats crossed the G20 summit stage! (Never thought I’d write *that* sentence in my life.)
