“Stranger Things” is now a video game, and it’s appropriately retro
Good news from The Upside Down: Stranger Things just launched a new game that’ll have you searching far and wide for Super Mario Land. But don’t worry, you don’t have to find your long-lost Game Boy to play.
In anticipation of the second season of the Netflix breakout, Stranger Thingsand indie game developers Bonus XP have teamed up to produce Stranger Things: The Game.
Created for mobile devices, the free game allows users to explore Hawkins, Indiana as their favorite Stranger Things characters, fighting off Hawkins Lab enforcers and trekking through The Upside Down — all while collecting Eggos.
As if anything associated with Stranger Things couldn’t get any cooler, each character in the game has their own special set of skills and weapons, as exemplified on the show. Speed away on your bike as Mike Wheeler, channel your inner Lucas with a Wrist Rocket slingshot, or even *literally* break down barriers as Nancy with her badass bats.
*do do do do do do do do* Stranger Things: The Game.

The game even comes equipped with your favorite video game music and in true Stranger Things fashion, it’s giving major retro vibes.
Stranger Things: The Game looks like the perfect way to get your Stranger Things fix as we wait for the second season to hit Netflix on October 27th.
Season 2 picks up about a year after the Demogorgon’s defeat and Will Byer’s (Noah Schnapp) rescue from The Upside Down. Naturally, Hawkins residents haven’t fully recovered from the horrific events from a year prior and it appears an even scarier monster may soon be upon them.
Until then, we’ll be playing Stranger Things: The Game, which is available for download in the App Store and Google Play.
