Spotify looks a whole lot like the Upside Down, thanks to this “Stranger Things” feature
The much-anticipated second season of Stranger Things is just days away from hitting Netflix and it seems everyone’s getting their spiked bats ready to head back into the Upside Down.
We’re, of course, far from the only ones excited to catch up with our favorite characters in Hawkins, Indiana! In honor of the second season’s upcoming release, Spotify has added a spooky feature that’ll have you feeling like you’re in the Upside Down as you listen to the Stranger Things official soundtracks from Seasons 1 and 2 — because you can’t get into that Stranger Things mood without listening to the eerie music from the series.
So what exactly is this Stranger Things Spotify feature?
It turns your screen into the Upside Down.
Triggering the Stranger Things feature is actually pretty simple. Use the streaming service on a computer, and start listening to the music from either the first or second season and wait. After a few seconds, the feature will kick in.
The idle screen will darken as the iconic Upside Down vines start to appear in the corners of the screen, and white particles will also begin to float across the screen. Classic Upside Down, amirite? And, of course, a flashlight (aka Hopper and Joyce coming to rescue you) will appear on the song progress bar, flashing left and right.
But if you’re starting to feel trapped in the Upside Down, it’s *very* easy to exit the feature.
All you have to do is move the mouse and the idle screen will disappear! But note, the Spotify feature will kick back into Stranger Things mode if left idle.
Now, go out and buy yourself a box (or 100) of Eggos and get ready for Season 2 of Stranger Things, which hits Netflix on Friday!
