The plot for “Stranger Things” Season 2 is here, and we need to be nervous about everyone
We recently got our first look at Stranger Things Season 2 with a new teaser. Now it seems like we’re getting some more details on what we can expect plot-wise from Season 2 of the hit Netflix show, which is set to premiere on October 31st this year.
Entertainment Weekly sat down with the cast and crew and was able to get a few new facts about the new season. Will is back with his friends after being saved from the Upside Down in Season 1 and joins Dustin, Lucas, and Mike in costume as Ghostbusters for Halloween because of course! And Season 2 begins about a year after Season 1 ended — and Season 2 picks up on Halloween, the IRL same day it premiers, and we see what you’re doing here, Netflix.
But what’s up with the slug Will coughed up in the final scene of Season 1? What will be the consequences of having been in the Upside Down for so long?
In the same interview, co-creator Matt Duffer told EW:
"[Will] seems to be seeing images from the Upside Down — the question is whether they’re real or not. So it seems like he’s having some sort of post-traumatic stress disorder."
Oh no, poor Will! It seems like in Season 2 all of our faves will be trying to deal with the repercussions of Season 1. And it’s not going well for them. Joyce (Winona Ryder) tries dating in order to give her sons a more stable home life. And her new boyfriend will be played by Sean Astin (from The Goonies!), which is a nice homage to the 1980s vibes of the show. And Hopper? Our favorite officer of the law has to try to keep all of the craziness of Season 1 under wraps so panic doesn’t grip the town.

There will also be new villains in Season 2, the Upside Down rift is still open, and omg what about Eleven?! Guess we’ll have to wait to find out. Stranger Things Season 2 will be available on Netflix beginning Halloween.
