A storm completely wiped out Mario Lopez’s yard, and the photos are terrifying
Southern California got hit by a storm earlier this week. Before you LOL, hear this: #seriously. SoCal experienced an actual, honest-to-goodness, bad-by-all-criteria rain storm. The proof is in Mario Lopez‘s Los Angeles backyard.
The Extra host and former Saved By The Bell star shared a series of posts to Instagram on Thursday night and Friday morning that showed how his yard was partially destroyed by the rain. His backyard, which sits on a hill, collapsed.
“So because of the rain, half my yard is in the street, Lopez says in the video.
“Check that out. … There’s the police officers, I got choppers in the sky. My playhouse didn’t come down. This is unbelievable. No bocce for a while.”
No bocce! The horror!
His wife, actress Courtney Mazza Lopez, was more concerned about their hygiene. “No showers for a while!” she responds.
The she turns to the responding police officers and asks, “Can we come to your house and shower?
The heavy rains caused some major destruction throughout the state. One homeless man is still missing after being swept away by rushing waters in the channel where he lived.
Lopez shared another video, as well as a photo of his home, on Friday morning to show the overnight progress by responders.
What happens to mansions built on hillsides, when it rains in Southern California.
Thankfully, despite the severe damage, no one was hurt. In fact, Mario put out this photo with his adorable son just a few hours ago, so playtime is at least still on.
“Thank God my kids weren’t playing in the yard and that no one got hurt, Mario says. “Neighbors or no one. But it is – wow. No more bocce for a while. That sucks.
Well, could be worse. But, still. Yep. Yep, it does.
