The new Steve Jobs movie trailer is here and it’s very Aaron Sorkin

After quite a bit of up and down (including casting reshuffles and finding a new director), Aaron Sorkin’s upcoming film Steve Jobs finally has a trailer. The film, which hits theaters in October, stars Michael Fassbender as Jobs, alongside Seth Rogen, Kate Winslet, and Jeff Daniels. With Sorkin writing and Danny Boyle directing, the film is almost guaranteed to be the kind of sweepingly epic take on Jobs’ life you would expect, but based on the trailer it also looks pretty dark.

The trailer is only one minute long, but the dialogue is pretty heavy. At one point, a woman says in voice-over, “What you make isn’t supposed to be the best part of you.” When Jobs takes the stage in the final seconds of the trailer, we also see Steve Wozniak (Rogen), Joanna Hoffman (Winslet), and John Scully (Daniels) looking upset, distant, and resigned. It seems safe to say that this adaptation won’t shy away from the more abrasive and controversial side of Steve Jobs’ rise to fame and success.
