Steve Irwin is finally getting his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
When the news of Steve Irwin’s death surfaced, many were upset. And for good reason: Irwin was the crocodile hunter we knew and loved. To this day, we’re still moved to tears any time one of his children pays tribute to the great animal lover — and Bindi’s tributes to her dad Steve Irwin are legendary. But Bindi isn’t the only one remembering her dad.
Everyone seems to still have a lot of love for the crocodile hunter. We’re pretty sure everyone cried when Steve Irwin’s father shared a letter that his son wrote. And now, we’re crying again over the news that the late celeb will be officially honored with a Steve Irwin star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
That’s right, Steve Irwin is getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
The king of the wildlife documentaries, Steve Irwin will be receiving his star as part of the 2018 television class with such celebs as Gillian Anderson and Lynda Carter.
The heartbreaking thing about Steve Irwin isn’t that he was gone too soon from us all (which he was). It’s that he died doing the thing he loved most in the world — educating the world about all the wonderful creatures we share it with.
But this honor comes at the perfect time. Especially for Steve’s family, with Robert Irwin seemingly following in his father’s footsteps.
On Instagram, Bindi Irwin broke the news in a heartwarming tribute.
It’s nice to know that we all still love the crocodile hunter. His contributions to wildlife documentaries should never be forgotten, and this star will help remind us of that. And the fact that his family is so happy about it just makes this entire thing that much better.
