Sterling K. Brown spoofed “This Is Us” in his first turn as “SNL” host, because of course he did

Okay, so we already know the upcoming season 2 finale of This Is Us will probably make us cry. But until then, we’ve got something that will make you laugh instead. On March 10th, Saturday Night Live host Sterling K. Brown took on the role of Ben Carson in a fantastic This Is Us parody, and you absolutely cannot miss it.

Aptly named This Is U.S., Brown’s portrayal of Carson was a satirical version of his character Randall on the real (and emotional AF) This Is Us. The sketch also included SNL favorites like Aidy Bryant as Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Pete Davidson as Jared Kushner, and — of course — Kate McKinnon as Kellyanne Conway.

The Saturday Night Live parody followed the three political figures as they navigated their roles in the Donald Trump administration, complete with some cleverly pointed criticism of Carson’s unlikely role as secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. It also bid goodbye to some former White House employees — including Sean Spicer, Anthony Scaramucci, and now Hope Hicks — while Bryant’s Sanders cried.

"It's the shows critics are calling, 'Like This is Us, but without the parts that feel good,'" the parody's voiceover said. "You'll be laughing through tears. Except without the laughing. So I guess just regular crying."

Sterling K. Brown’s parody of This Is Us on SNL was both hilarious and totally on point. See for yourself:

Obviously, the parody included a *lot* of crying. And while everyone else sobbed, McKinnon’s Kellyanne tried to join in (and hilariously failed).

“No, I can’t cry,” McKinnon said in her portrayal of the White House counselor, who is currently under fire for allegedly violating the Hatch Act. “I have nothing in me.”

TBH, the hilarious This Is Us parody almost made us want to cry because it was a little *too* real. Until then, we’ll gladly watch Sterling K. Brown in, well, anything. Hopefully, we can start saving our tears for This Is Us instead of real life. Fingers crossed!
