Motion to have Stephen Curry’s daughter do all NBA press conferences from now on

Last night, the Golden State Warriors beat the Houston Rockets in Game 1 of the NBA Western Conference Finals. The win was in no small part thanks to Warriors point guard and NBA MVP Stephen Curry, who led all scorers for the night with 34 points, plus six rebounds and five assists — just for good measure.

But while Curry may have had an excellent game, it was his daughter, Riley, who ended up stealing the show. In the postgame, Curry brought his almost-3-year-old along with him to the podium, and our hearts have now collectively exploded from the cuteness. In a video from the press conference, Riley giggles, dramatically yawns, sasses her dad “You’re too loud, Daddy, be quiet,” and waves at everyone in the audience—all while Curry fields questions and tries not to crack a smile. (Spoiler alert: he fails.)

At one point, Riley even leaves her dad’s lap to play with the tablecloth, as a bunch of journalists snap pictures with their phones. Predictably, it was adorable, and it’s hard to believe anyone was paying attention to what Curry had to say.

We should note that the Warriors’ win last night was an especially significant one, given the fact that it was the team’s first conference finals appearance in almost 40 years. And there was certainly plenty to talk about. Perhaps most notably, Curry actually got a $5,000 fine for violating the league’s anti-flopping rules in the fourth quarter. (FYI, he still makes the shot, and it is awesome. If you are into those things, you can watch it here.)

But honestly, nothing could take us away from Riley Curry’s amazingness right now. It’s always super adorable when players bring their kids with them to postgame (Chris Paul and Tim Duncan have both done it in the past), and Riley is obviously no exception. She’s definitely a girl after our own hearts, as well: after trying to steal the mic a couple times, she grows bored and toddles over to her mom, off camera.

Now, if only we could get an all-toddler panel discussing their dads’ performance after every game, we’d probably actually watch the press conferences more often. Check out the video for yourself below!
