Get excited “Ghostbusters” fans because the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is back
If you’re a true Ghostbusters fan, then you love ANYTHING to do with the iconic 1984 film, right? [Shouts: YES!!!] Well, if you were missing anymore NODS to the classic in trailers for the upcoming revamp (because there are a lot of great ones already), then you are in luck.
Ray Stantz’s innocent, yet hilariously terrifying, mascot from his childhood is back….
Yes, we’re talking about the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
For a refresher, here he is in the original film…
…and here’s our super quick glimpse of him in the new film!
By the looks of it, he may not be a ~true~ giant Stay Puft mascot, but a haunted parade float. STILL, it’s pretty awesome that he’s making an appearance.
If you recall, in the original film, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man served not only a pivotal role during the movie’s climax, but also served as one of the funniest (OMG there are so many) moments, too.
After Gozer tells the Ghostbusters to choose the form of their destructor, Ray can’t help himself think of, “the most harmless thing, something I loved from my childhood, something that would never, ever destroy us.”
And, well, Venkman (Bill Murray) pretty much put it best.
And, we certainly can’t wait to see his next appearance in the new film on July 15th!
