18 states (plus D.C.) where Hillary Clinton won the election
Whether she wins tonight or not, Hillary Clinton’s run for the presidency has been historic. She’s the first woman to ever win the nomination of a major political party — and that’s a pretty major glass ceiling to shatter. We’ve been watching her campaign closely, and tonight we’re tracking states where Clinton has won the election.
While most pollsters expected Clinton to win before this night got underway, the race appears to be closer than previously expected. To win, a candidate needs 270 Electoral College votes (click here for a primer on how that system works) — so keep checking back with us here to find out where Clinton has won (and click here to keep track of Trump’s numbers).
