Starbucks just dropped a purple “Witch’s Brew” Halloween Frapp—here are the wicked details

Something wicked this way comes—and it looks like a spellbinding new Starbucks concoction. Just as we were starting to wonder if this year would bring another Halloween specialty drink, the coffee chain announced its latest creation, the Witch’s Brew Crème Frappuccino. And this is a magic potion you won’t want to miss.

The coffee chain announced the purple and green drink in a news release published today, October 25th. Starbucks notes that the Witch’s Brew Frappuccino is cooked up with a “purple blend of ‘toad’s breath’ and orange crème Frappuccino” mixed with a “swirl of green ‘bat warts’ (made with chia seeds).” The bewitching blend is topped with vanilla whipped cream and a “dusting of green ‘lizard scale’ powder,” which could possibly be matcha, though we’re not sure.

Jennica Robinson of the Starbucks beverage development team described the drink as “very fun, vibrant, bubbly, the life of the party.” So it pretty much sounds like the beverage has more in common with Glinda the Good Witch than, say, Winifred Sanderson.

According to the release, this limited-edition drink is now available in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and some locations in the Caribbean. And the Witch’s Brew Frappuccino will only be offered while supplies last, so be sure to get yours before it vanishes for good.

Starbucks hasn’t released a new frappe since the magenta-colored Serious Strawberry Frappuccino was added to the permanent menu in June, so we’re obviously excited to see another limited-edition festive option hit the coffee giant’s stores.

Starbucks notes in its release that it began offering ghoulish Halloween treats in 2014 with the Franken Frappuccino. In 2015 and 2016, it released the vampire-inspired Frappula, and 2017 brought the caramel apple-flavored Zombie Frappuccino. We can’t wait to try the Witch’s Brew Crème Frappuccino and see how it stacks up.
