Starbucks now serves sushi burritos — here’s where you can get them

Your favorite coffee chain is quickly becoming a one-stop shop for all your caffeine and culinary needs. As Extra Crispy reports, Starbucks now offers a sushi burrito. However — brace yourselves for a sucker punch to the gut — it’s only available at two locations in Chicago.

Dubbed the Chicken Maki roll, Starbucks’ sushi burrito is a part of the chain’s Mercato lunch menu at its two new stores in downtown Chicago, which opened their doors last week. According to the company’s press release, its sushi burritos sound positively divine.

"A classic California chicken burrito with a twist – the chicken maki roll is rolled in sushi rice and wrapped with nori. The roll is filled with slow cooked, shredded chicken, fire roasted tomatillo salsa, lime crema, fresh cucumber and pickled cabbage with onions, avocado and crispy onion."

In addition to the sushi burrito, the Chicago Starbucks stores are also offering a Chimichurri Chicken & Manchego Cheese Sandwich and a Crispy Grilled Cheese Sandwich.

If neither of those mouthwatering sandwiches sounds tantalizing (although how), the soup and dessert menus should do the trick. There’s an organic tomato basil and chicken and quinoa plus two dessert pots: Chocolate Pot de Crème and Strawberries & Lemon Crème.

Ugh, that is far too much #yum under one roof, but something tells us we’d be up for an extended visit. If your taste buds are begging you to head to the Midwest for a bite of the new sushi burrito (or literally anything on this menu), the newly opened locations are at 35th and State Streets in Bronzeville and LaSalle and Monroe in the Loop.
