Starbucks is releasing a brand new fall drink, and it’s going to be like autumn in a cup

For as long as we can remember — or at least the last few years — the beginning of fall hasn’t simply been the arrival of the September equinox, but the arrival of the iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks (and the onslaught of Pumpkin spice products that follow).

Tomorrow, our beloved PSL will no longer be alone in the coveted fall hot beverage realm. For the return of fall, Starbucks is launching a delicious new Maple Pecan Latte.

It’s literally the changing of seasons in beautifully caffeinated beverage form. Inspired by autumn, the Maple Pecan Latte offers hints of maple syrup, pecans, and brown butter, which blend perfectly with Starbucks’ espresso, and, of course, the steamed milk.

We’re not the only ones thrilled about this new flavor. Starbucks Beverage Research and Development team member Debbie Antonio explained what makes the Maple Pecan Latte absolutely perfect:

“Our espresso shot is the core of our handcrafted beverages, Antonio explained.“The flavors of maple and pecan perfectly balance the inherent sweet and nutty flavors of espresso. The result is a smooth and well-rounded handcrafted beverage that customers can personalize to truly make theirs."

But fall lovers aren’t the only ones being treated with a new flavor, Starbucks is offering a brand new Dark Mocha Frappuccino, which also hits stores on September 22nd. The fudgy flavor combines everything we love about the classic mocha frappuccino with EVEN. MORE. CHOCOLATE.

And of course, a new season means new seasonal cups. We’ve been obsessed with the holiday cups for years and after the beautiful spring cups, the coffee giant has decided to ease us into fall with gorgeous orange and teal versions — with space to add DIY fall designs of your own.
