Starbucks’ colorful new drink sounds delicious *and* Instagram-able
Maybe you’ve spotted the Starbucks Ombre Pink Drink out in the wild. It’s the newest evolution of pink liquid floating in a Starbucks cup, and it’s got us intrigued. Remember the best-selling Unicorn Frappucino? If frapps are too sweet for you, maybe you’ll like the new Ombre Pink Drink.
You might be wondering what differentiates the Ombre Pink Drink from its cousin, the original Pink Drink.

Well, we’ve got a look at the recipe cards on the official Starbucks site. They’re pretty similar in origin, but the flavors will definitely be different.
The original Pink Drink that took Instagram by storm last summer is made with a combination of strawberry refresher and coconut milk. The pink sweet drink is almost like a fruit cocktail. It’s refreshing (there’s a reason they use that term in the drink branding!) and super cute too. It’s not a requirement that our beverages be attractive to be enjoyable, but hey, it helps!
So what’s the twist on the new Ombre Pink Drink? It’s made with cool lime refresher, coconut milk, and just a splash of passion tea to give it that pink look (and a tangy taste). It may be less sweet than the original Pink Drink, but with a little more zest to it. That’s what it sounds like based on the ingredients list, but we’d have to try it to know for sure. We just know we’re looking forward to getting it ASAP!
