Starbucks’ newest holiday drinks are so gorgeous to look at — but there’s a catch

Starbucks just might be the most festive company around. (Ignore all the 2015 red cup haters.) So when we discovered these new holiday drinks from Starbucks, we were smitten. We can get a drink with a whipped cream Santa Hat on top?! Or with a red syrupy ribbon?! Well, as beautiful as these drinks are, enjoy looking at them all you can. Because if you’re in the United States, you unfortunately won’t be consuming these glorious Starbucks holiday drinks.

Apparently, the Santa Hat Dark Mocha and Teavana Christmas Ribbon Matcha Latte are only available at Starbucks in Hong Kong. So while you can admire these caffeinated beauties, they will not be getting in your belly this Christmas season.

How cute are these drinks?!

A genius over Delish did come up with some innovative ways to recreate these festive holiday drinks at your local Starbucks though.

For the Santa Hat Dark Mocha, they suggested:

“The closest you could get to that in the states would be asking for a raspberry drizzle — going heavy on the drizzle — atop the whipped cream on a regular mocha, with an extra pouf of whipped cream in the center.”

For the Teavana Christmas Ribbon Matcha Latte:

“You could hack a similar drink by adding a pump of raspberry syrup to a green tea latte—or Frappuccino—then asking for a drizzle of syrup on top.”

And in case these drinks weren’t enough like dessert for you, the Hong Kong Starbucks also has this adorable reindeer parfait.

Now, while the U.S. doesn’t have these drinks, that doesn’t mean other international nations don’t. For example, the Philippines Starbucks have their own versions, like the Santa Hat Dark Mocha Frappuccino.

Of course, we’re a bit bummed that we don’t have these delicious menu options. Alas, the coffee is always greener on the other side.

However, we do have plenty of other Starbucks drinks to be thankful for this holiday season. So don’t look longingly at these drinks for too long or else you’ll miss all of the tasty stuff at your own local Starbucks this winter.
